Description

Fontaine-Gagnard's Clos-Saint-Jean Rouge comes from Pinot Noir in the Premier Cru Clos Saint-Jean climat of Chassagne-Montrachet. The site formerly belonged to the abbey of Saint-Jean-le-Grand in Autun. Its southeast-facing vines grow on light, shallow red soils. Indigenous-yeast fermentation and maturation in oak barrels follow the estate's cellar approach. The nose is characterised by intense red-fruit aromas, while the palate emphasises elegance and finesse. Its identity therefore brings together Pinot Noir and the specific origin of this Chassagne vineyard, within the domaine's range of red Premier Cru wines.
