Description

Fontaine-Gagnard's Les Caillerets is a Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru made from Chardonnay in the Vigne Derrière lieu-dit, behind the last houses of the village. The southeast-facing parcel has two soil components: shallow white soils on the upper slope and a greater presence of clay lower down. The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and matures in oak. Its balance combines a mineral character associated with the upper vineyard and the richness of the lower section. Spicy suggestions complete this profile, in which the two parts of the parcel come together.
