Description
Fontaine-Gagnard's Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge is a Pinot Noir blended from parcels within the village appellation. Its origins include Battaudes, Benoites, Puits Merdreaux, Mouchottes and Voillenots Dessus. The south- and southeast-facing vineyards grow on marly limestone soils. Indigenous-yeast fermentation and oak maturation follow the practice of the estate, founded in Chassagne-Montrachet in 1985. The wine expresses a fruity character with roundness, making it approachable in youth. Bringing together several parcels helps shape this interpretation of the village's red wine and its place within the domaine's wider range.
