Description

Fontaine-Gagnard's Volnay Premier Cru Clos des Chênes is made from Pinot Noir grown below the Montagne du Chagnot, whose name preserves a local reference to the oak tree. The southeast-facing parcel has brown soils with a high limestone content. Its origin in this Volnay climat distinguishes the wine within the Chassagne-Montrachet estate's red range. Cellar work uses indigenous yeasts and maturation in oak barrels. The profile combines red-fruit aromas with a rich palate, where power and suppleness coexist and together define the structure of the wine.
