Description

Leirana Finca Genoveva is the single-vineyard Albariño through which Rodrigo Méndez tells the story of one of Val do Salnés's historic sites. Planted in 1862, the vines grow on granitic soils in a landscape shaped by the nearby Atlantic. Their heritage forms part of Forjas del Salnés's work to preserve Galicia's winegrowing memory through old vines and traditional techniques. Fermentation uses indigenous yeasts, and ageing takes place in large wooden vessels with significant lees contact. Genoveva puts continuity between place, history and the interpretation of Albariño at the centre of its identity.
