Description

François Chaumont’s Puisieulx Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut comes exclusively from Pinot Noir grown in estate vineyards in this small Montagne de Reims Grand Cru. Chalk soils and southeastern exposures characterise its origin. The blend includes reserve wines; winemaking takes place predominantly in stainless steel and includes malolactic fermentation. Compared with the Brut version, the cuvée receives longer lees ageing and a lower dosage. Its profile emphasises a mineral component, with fine effervescence, keeping the relationship between Pinot Noir and the Puisieulx vineyard area at its centre.
