Description

Montesodi is Castello Nipozzano’s Sangiovese, introduced in 1974 as the estate’s first single-vineyard wine. Its name refers to the stony nature of the vineyard, situated at four hundred metres on southwest-facing schist soils. The 2021 vintage belongs to the Chianti Rufina Riserva Terraelectae designation. Hand harvesting and berry selection were followed by fermentation and maceration, then eighteen months of maturation in large Austrian and French oak casks. Red fruits, blood orange, pepper and minty suggestions shape the profile, accompanied by freshness, silky tannins and a long finish that preserves the wine’s lively character.
