Description

Leonia Éternelle is Frescobaldi’s traditional-method sparkling wine made exclusively from Chardonnay grown in its namesake vineyard at Pomino, seven hundred metres above sea level. Nearby Apennine forests define the landscape of this origin. For the 2014 vintage, hand harvesting and gentle pressing preceded fermentation of the base wines in stainless steel and French barriques. Bottle fermentation was followed by eight years on the lees. The colour is golden, with fine, persistent bubbles. Citrus, yellow fruit, nuts and pastry notes accompany a creamy palate, balanced by freshness and a savoury character.
