Description

Sperss expresses the Gaja family's connection with Serralunga d'Alba, where vineyards were purchased in 1988 for a project particularly dear to Giovanni and Angelo. Its name means nostalgia in the local dialect, recalling Giovanni's childhood memories of the area. Nebbiolo grows on compact clay and limestone soils in the Marenca-Rivette area, and the wine matures in oak. This origin underpins a deep, structured style with a strong capacity to develop. Sperss therefore represents the family's engagement with Serralunga's vineyard character, extending a history long rooted in Barbaresco into another major landscape of the Langhe.
