Description

Sperss, meaning nostalgia in the Piedmontese dialect, recalls Giovanni Gaja's memories of Serralunga d'Alba. The family purchased vineyards there in 1988, opening an important chapter beyond Barbaresco. This bottling represents the historical period marketed as Langhe, retaining Nebbiolo and the clay-limestone marl of Marenca-Rivette at its core. Oak maturation accompanies a wine conceived around depth, structure and development over time. Its identity is closely bound to this landscape and to the family's intention to interpret it through a dedicated selection, separate from its other Piedmontese expressions and rooted in the particular origin of its fruit.
