Description

Gantenbein’s Pinot Noir comes from Fläsch in the Grisons, at the foot of the Alps. Vines of Burgundian selection are planted at high density on the slopes of the Rhine valley. Careful hand harvesting precedes fermentation in open wooden vats; malolactic fermentation and maturation continue in barriques. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration. The cuvée seeks balance between body and delicacy, with a focused, complex texture. Gravity-led handling accompanies the grapes through production, maintaining attention to the quality of the fruit and its expression.
