Description

Les Plantes 2023 is the white Coteaux Champenois through which Gaspard Brochet's Domaine Les Croix explores Chardonnay as a still wine. The grapes come from the historic family vineyard Les Plantes, planted in 1982 on white clay soils. Fermentation takes place in tank before the wine moves to small oak barrels for twenty-two months of maturation. Lees stirring accompanies this period without racking. Produced on a small scale, the wine focuses on a particular parcel in Écueil and adds another dimension to the domaine's work, extending its vineyard expression beyond Champagne's bubbles.
