Description

Les Chênes is Georges Laval's single-site Chardonnay from a south-facing slope in the Premier Cru village of Cumières. A thin layer of clay and loam covers the chalk into which the old vines root. The cuvée is made only from harvests considered suitable for this selection, with grapes allowed to reach full ripeness. Spontaneous fermentation and time in previously used barrels precede bottle ageing on the lees. Released as Brut Nature, this Blanc de Blancs connects the family's organic vineyard work with a focused interpretation of one of its historic sites.
