Description

Cerretta Barbera represents an important part of Giacomo Conterno's work in Serralunga d'Alba. The family acquired its parcels in this cru in 2008, adding a new source of Barbera and Nebbiolo alongside its established Francia vineyard. The soils have a pronounced clay component and a predominantly western exposure. Winemaking follows a traditional approach, with fermentation in wooden vats and maturation in large casks. This is an interpretation of Barbera made with the same attention given to the estate's Barolo wines, focusing on substance and the ability to develop rather than immediate appeal alone.
