Made by Giacomo Conterno, the Vigna Francia is a Barbera d’Alba produced from the Cascina/Vigna Francia single-vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba. The wine is vinified from Barbera grapes (the production rules allow 85–100% Barbera) and, following the estate’s traditional approach, is typically aged in large oak casks for about two years. The bottle bears the “vigna” designation and shows a profile of red fruit, lively acidity and savory/spicy nuances.
