Description

Francia comes from the Serralunga d'Alba vineyard purchased by the Conterno family in 1974, a decisive step from buying grapes towards working with estate-grown fruit. Its Nebbiolo is interpreted through extended maceration and lengthy maturation in large oak casks. Temperature is controlled during Francia's fermentation, maintaining a distinction from the approach taken with Monfortino. The wine reflects the cellar's commitment to deep, ageworthy Barolo shaped by grape selection and time. Across different harvests, the cru's origin remains the central thread, supported by a traditional method that gives the wine room to develop.
