Description

Bric Valdiana is Giovanni Almondo’s Nebbiolo from the named vineyard area of Montà d’Alba. The vines face south on sandy, calcareous soils within the Roero’s marine-origin landscape. Maturation takes place in large, untoasted Slavonian oak casks. Iris, violet and rose combine with cherry, wild strawberry, liquorice and dried thyme in the aromatic profile. Fine tannins frame a juicy palate and a long, savoury finish. The estate aims to bring together the structure needed for ageing and an elegant, inviting expression of fruit, showing a distinctive side of Nebbiolo from this Roero hillside.
