Description

Serra is made from Nebbiolo grown in the named vineyard area of Serralunga d’Alba, on east- and southeast-facing slopes. Fermentation takes place in concrete with pump-overs, followed by maturation in large French oak casks. The estate adjusts the length of ageing to the character of each vintage. Its profile is structured and balsamic, bringing together woodland fruit, cherry and violet with liquorice and suggestions of coffee. Closely woven tannins shape the palate, supported by savoury flavour and persistence. The result is an interpretation of Nebbiolo that emphasises the distinctive strength of this Serralunga site.
