Description

Girlan's 2021 Curlan Pinot Noir Riserva comes from three selected vineyards at around 500 metres, on poor, gravelly moraine soils above a porphyry subsoil. Hand-picked grapes are destemmed and transferred by gravity into stainless steel tanks. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for twenty months in barriques before further bottle ageing. The estate describes wild berries, sour cherry and herbal spice, together with a complex structure and juicy tannins. Its balance of elegance and richness suits roast meat, game and mature cheeses, linking the selected hillside origins to a substantial yet refined style.
