Description

Girlan's 2021 Vigna Ganger Riserva is Pinot Noir from the Ganger monopole in Mazzon, at 360–380 metres on deep clay and limestone soils facing southwest. A proportion of whole bunches is retained, while fermentation takes place in stainless steel with gravity-fed transfers. Twenty months in barriques and extended bottle ageing follow. The vintage sheet describes cherry, sour cherry, wild berries and a touch of marzipan, with freshness, spice and soft tannins on the palate. This single-vineyard selection aims to combine structure with finesse and is suited to roast meat and game.
