Description

Monprivato is the Castiglione Falletto vineyard at the heart of Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio's history, farmed by the family since the early twentieth century. Nebbiolo grows on calcareous marine marl with a southwesterly exposure, and is vinified separately to preserve the site's identity. Traditional floating-cap fermentation precedes maturation in Slavonian oak casks. The estate describes a combination of fruit, flowers and spices with a full, energetic and persistent palate. Its capacity to develop makes this a Barolo to follow over time, served alongside red meat or mature cheeses rather than judged solely in its youth.
