Description

Villero is Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio's Barolo from the vineyard area of the same name in Castiglione Falletto. Selected Nebbiolo grapes are vinified separately, reflecting an approach based on the differences between individual sites. Traditional floating-cap fermentation is followed by maturation in Slavonian oak casks. Rather than emphasising power alone, the estate highlights the finesse of its floral and fruity aromas, a silky entry on the palate and balanced proportions. Red meat, game and mature cheeses are the producer's suggested accompaniments, allowing the wine's particular vineyard character to remain part of the meal.
