Description

Grattamacco Bolgheri Superiore DOC reflects the estate’s hillside vineyards, situated between 100 and 200 metres above sea level. The soils bring together sandstone, white clay and limestone-marl flysch. Hand harvesting and grape selection precede vinification in small open oak vats, with gentle punch-downs carried out manually. Maturation continues in barriques. Sangiovese in the blend maintains a connection with Tuscan tradition. In the estate’s account, the wine’s character emerges particularly from the meeting of these soils and an artisanal approach that pays close attention to extraction.
