Description
Sivi 2011 preserves a now-closed chapter of Josko Gravner's work: Pinot Grigio from the Bracnik vineyard, planted in 1974. Sivi is the variety's Slovenian name, adopted for this bottling after its earlier Pinot Grigio Riserva designation. The grapes ferment spontaneously with lengthy skin contact in buried Georgian amphorae; after pressing, the wine returns to amphora before extended maturation in old oak casks and bottle. The importer emphasises breadth, depth and intensity. It records Gravner's exploration of skins and time before his eventual concentration on indigenous varieties, offering a distinctive historical expression of Pinot Grigio.
