Description

Au-Dessus du Gros Mont is Guillaume Selosse's personal Champagne from a tiny parcel of old Chardonnay in Cramant, given to him by his grandmother on his eighteenth birthday. The project links a very precise vineyard origin with a perpetual reserve through which successive harvests interact. The base wines ferment in barrel and remain on their lees before blending, followed by extended bottle ageing. Indigenous fermentation reflects the family's approach to wine. This small-scale cuvée makes the identity of its vineyard and the continuity between harvests inseparable, presenting a particular site through both place and time.
