Description
Smockshop Band White 2022 comes from a vineyard on the western side of Underwood Mountain in the Columbia Gorge, on basalt soils. Hiyu brings together Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, harvested together and fermented on their skins as whole bunches. Pressing precedes completion of fermentation in a wooden vat and subsequent ageing in small, used casks. This white reflects the farm's work with plant diversity and the integration of animals into the vineyard. The distributor's sheet describes notes of melon, long pepper and green tea.
