Description

The Etna Riserva Saeculare (2016) by I Custodi delle Vigne dell'Etna is an Etna Rosso Riserva sourced from Feudo di Mezzo on Etna’s northern slope. The blend is led by Nerello Mascalese (reported at 80%), with Nerello Cappuccio and Alicante, grown on volcanic soils at about 600 m and trained in the alberello style. The wine undergoes ageing in tonneaux for roughly 24 months followed by bottle ageing; it shows a ruby red colour with ripe fruit, tobacco notes and firm but balanced tannins.
