Description

Made by I Vigneri (Salvo Foti), Viti Centenarie del Vinupetra is an Etna Rosso produced from a small parcel of century-old vines (Vigna Calderara) in Contrada Porcaria, Castiglione di Sicilia, at about 580 m above sea level. The wine is based mainly on Nerello Mascalese (around 80%) with Nerello Cappuccio and Grenache completing the blend. Fermentation involves extended maceration and maturation in 225–500 L barrels for 12–18 months, followed by additional bottle ageing. It is a limited-production wine closely tied to traditional Alberello-trained vineyards on Etna.
