Description

Initial is the Blanc de Blancs through which Jacques Selosse brings together Chardonnay from Avize, Cramant and Oger. Three consecutive harvests contribute to a blend spanning these celebrated Côte des Blancs villages, with lower-slope vineyards playing an important role. Ripe grapes, restricted yields and barrel maturation are central to its construction. The resulting Champagne has a distinctly vinous character, layered texture and complexity that develops with air and time in bottle. Restrained dosage accompanies this expression of grape substance and place, making Initial a broad introduction to the estate's distinctive approach.
