Les Chantereines focuses Jacques Selosse's attention on Avize, the Côte des Blancs village where the family is based. Made entirely from Chardonnay, it belongs to the Lieux-Dits collection of six individual vineyard interpretations. Comparing these places lies at the heart of the project: each wine retains its own identity, while blending successive harvests reduces the influence of any single season. Barrel work and lees maturation form part of the estate's approach, which centres on careful attention to the soil, grape maturity and allowing the place of origin to express itself.
