Description

Sous Le Mont represents Mareuil-sur-Aÿ in Jacques Selosse's Lieux-Dits collection. This Pinot Noir Blanc de Noirs comes from Mont du Gruguet, an east-facing, mid-slope parcel acquired in 2003. Its chalky soil contains a magnesium-rich component that the importer connects with the wine's particular character. Blending successive harvests gives priority to the expression of place, following the same principle as the other Champagnes in the series. The presentation describes a composed personality and a subtle bitter edge, offering a less muscular expression than the collection's most powerful interpretations of Pinot Noir.
