Description
Jean Chartron's Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune Vieilles Vignes is a Chardonnay from clay-limestone soils. The appellation identifies the Hautes-Côtes vineyards, while Vieilles Vignes refers to the selection of mature vines. Fermentation takes place entirely in previously used oak barrels between one and five years old. The wine remains on its fine lees in wood for around eight months, followed by approximately three months in tank. Barrel fermentation, time on the fine lees and the subsequent tank stage mark the estate's cellar work on this Chardonnay from its regional range.
