Description
Jean Chartron's Bourgogne Vieilles Vignes is a regional white made from Chardonnay grown on clay-limestone soils. The reference to old vines distinguishes this cuvée within the estate's production, whose history in Puligny-Montrachet dates to 1859. Fermentation takes place in previously used oak barrels between one and five years old. Maturation on the fine lees lasts approximately eight months in wood, followed by around three months in tank. The cellar process therefore combines barrel fermentation, contact with the fine lees and a subsequent resting period before bottling.
