Description
Clos des Chevaliers is Jean Chartron's monopole within the Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru. Chardonnay grows on clay-limestone soils, and the clos includes historical plantings from 1947 and 1986. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels, combining new and previously used wood. Maturation on the fine lees lasts approximately fourteen months in barrel, followed by around four months in tank. Exclusive ownership of the vineyard and the continuity of its plantings are central elements in the cuvée's identity, connected with the Chartron family's long-standing roots in Puligny-Montrachet.
