Description
Jean Chartron's Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is made from Chardonnay grown on clay-limestone soils. The estate's parcel covers approximately eight and a half ares and was planted in 1981. In the cellar, fermentation takes place in oak barrels, with a proportion of new wood alongside previously used vessels. The wine remains on its fine lees for around fourteen months in barrel before a further period of approximately four months in tank. Its origin in this small parcel and the two-stage maturation process define the cuvée's production background.
