Description
Jean Chartron's Pernand-Vergelesses is a village white made from Chardonnay grown on clay-limestone soils. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels, using both new wood and vessels that have already held several wines. The wine matures on its fine lees for approximately twelve months in barrel and completes the process with around four months in tank. These stages separate fermentation, time on the lees and the rest before bottling. The cuvée extends the Chartron family's white-wine production to Pernand-Vergelesses, alongside its activity in Puligny-Montrachet dating to 1859.
