Description
Jean Chartron's Clos du Cailleret Blanc is a Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru made from Chardonnay on clay-limestone soils. The estate's white-wine parcels in the clos include plantings from several periods, spanning 1955 to 2006. Fermentation takes place in new and previously used oak barrels, followed by maturation on the fine lees for approximately twelve months. A subsequent period of around four months in tank completes the process. The cuvée's identity is tied to the clos and the continuity of its vines within the Chartron family's historical production in Puligny-Montrachet.
