Description
Jean Chartron's Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Vieilles Vignes is a Chardonnay from clay-limestone soils. The Vieilles Vignes designation refers to the mature vines selected for this cuvée. Fermentation takes place in new and previously used oak barrels; the wine then remains on its fine lees in wood for around twelve months, before approximately four further months in tank. This cellar work belongs to the white-wine tradition of the family, established in Puligny-Montrachet since 1859. Premier Cru classification and the vine selection define its identity within the estate's production.
