Description
Jean Chartron's Savigny-les-Beaune is a village white made from Chardonnay on clay-limestone soils. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels, combining new wood with previously used vessels. The wine continues to mature on its fine lees in barrel and subsequently moves to tank before bottling. These cellar stages follow the estate's approach to white wines. The cuvée extends the Chartron family's work to Savigny-les-Beaune from its roots in Puligny-Montrachet since 1859. The domaine was founded by Jean-Edouard Dupard, a cooper whose activity marked the beginning of the family's history.
