Description

Jean-Louis Chave's Hermitage Blanc brings together Marsanne and Roussanne grown in different parts of the hill. Rocoules, L'Hermite, Péléat and Maison Blanche contribute contrasting soils, ranging from limestone-rich clay and granite to sand, stones and loess deposits. The family sees blending these origins as the means of expressing Hermitage as a whole. Ripe grapes, low yields and oak vinification support this vision. It is a white wine built on the complementary qualities of sites and varieties, with selection and patient cellar work carrying as much importance as any individual vineyard.
