Description

Jean-Louis Chave’s red Hermitage brings together Syrah from different sites on the hill, following a tradition in which blending creates a complete portrait of the landscape. The steep granite soils of Bessards form a central reference, complemented by parcels with different geology, exposure and structure. Grapes are harvested and vinified separately, preserving individual identities before the final composition. The approach favours ripe fruit, restrained yields and measured intervention, with maturation in wood. The Réserve Cave selection presents this cuvée through a historic bottle while retaining the identity of the domaine’s classic Hermitage.
