Description

Jean-Louis Chave's red Hermitage interprets the hill by blending Syrah from several distinct sites. Les Bessards, with its granite soils, provides a fundamental reference point, joined by parcels such as Le Méal, Péléat, L'Hermite and Les Beaumes, each with its own soils and position. The components are handled separately before finding their balance in the finished wine. Fermentation in wood and stainless steel, barrel maturation and careful grape selection support an approach rooted in the family's Rhône history. The aim is to express Hermitage as a whole through the complementary qualities of its vineyards.
