Jean-Michel Gaunoux-Hudelot Meursault Premier Cru Genevrières is a white wine from the Côte de Beaune, classified as Premier Cru. Winemaking begins in tank; before alcoholic fermentation is complete, the juice is transferred to barrels in the cellar. Maturation continues in oak in contact with the lees, with a restrained proportion of new wood. At the end of maturation, the individual barrels are racked and blended. The wine therefore follows a process combining the start of fermentation in tank with a subsequent period on its lees in barrel.
