Description

Pignacolusse is Jermann’s Pignolo, a Venezia Giulia IGT red first produced in 1999. Its name combines a reference to the bunch’s pine-cone shape with Colusse, the vineyard’s cadastral name. The soils derive from colluvial material associated with the Eocene elevation of Monte Fortino. Fermentation in wooden vats includes manual punch-downs, followed by maturation in small oak barrels. The project champions an old Friulian variety and a firm, dry, tannic style, reflecting the estate’s commitment to traditional local grapes and the methods used to express them.
