Description

Piante a Lapio is Joaquin’s project devoted to Fiano from the old vines of Lapio in Irpinia. The selection preserves a heritage of century-old, pre-phylloxera plants grown at around 550 metres on clay and limestone soils. Work in chestnut casks recalls a traditional local material and accompanies a broad interpretation of the grape. Spice, honey, Mediterranean herbs and touches of hazelnut weave through its aromatic profile. The palate seeks a balance between freshness, softness and power, leaving time to reveal further nuances within this distinctive expression of an ancient vineyard heritage.
