Description
Keller's Pettenthal GG is a dry Riesling from the Roter Hang, the renowned Nierstein hillside overlooking the Rhine. The vineyard lies between Nierstein and Nackenheim, with mainly eastern and southeastern exposures. Its steepest sections are characterised by red, iron-rich clay-based rock, which gives the wider slope its name. Morning sunshine and light reflected from the river contribute to the site's microclimate. This cuvée therefore represents an origin distinct from the limestone vineyards of Westhofen and Dalsheim, connecting Riesling with a different geological expression within Rheinhessen and emphasising the character of the riverside slope.
