Description

Muschelkalk Alte Reben is Kolfok's Pinot Blanc from a plateau northwest of Neckenmarkt, above 350 metres. Surrounded by spruce forest, the vineyard has abundant fossil limestone and vines planted around 1960. For the 2023 vintage, the winery describes hand harvesting in the cool morning hours, followed by overnight skin contact and gentle pressing. The juice flows by gravity into a wooden barrel, where it ferments spontaneously and continues to mature. Bottling takes place without fining or filtration. The producer emphasises the wine's structure, subtle aromatic character and capacity to develop with age.
