Description

Kongsgaard’s 2023 Napa Valley Chardonnay combines fruit from the Hudson and Hyde vineyards in Carneros with grapes from Arcadia in Coombsville. Made entirely from Chardonnay, the wine ferments in French oak with indigenous yeasts. Barrel maturation lasts around two years, followed by bottling without fining or filtration. Citrus and honey intertwine in the aromatic profile, while a saline component and mineral sensations accompany a taut finish. The blend brings together the different vineyard origins, retaining both the substance of the fruit and a lively tension on the palate, central characteristics of this vintage’s interpretation.
