Krug Grande Cuvée 169ème Édition is composed around the 2013 harvest, complemented by reserve wines reaching back to 2000. A total of 146 wines from eleven years forms the blend, with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier providing complementary expressions. Reserve wines represent 40%, contributing breadth and roundness. The colour is pale gold and the bubbles are fine and lively. Flowers, ripe fruit, citrus and marzipan shape the aromatic profile, while the palate adds suggestions of hazelnut, nougat, brioche and honey in a layered interpretation of Champagne.
