Description

Monteleone’s Etna Rumex is an Etna Rosso DOC made from 100% Nerello Mascalese sourced from a pre-phylloxera, Alberello-trained vineyard on Etna’s northern slope. The century‑old vines at about 680 metres in Contrada Pontale Palino give the wine notable freshness and volcanic minerality. Fermentation and maceration follow traditional methods with spontaneous malolactic fermentation, then the wine is aged roughly 16 months in French oak tonneaux, with further rest in concrete and in bottle. The result is a territorial red showing red-fruit and mineral notes characteristic of Nerello Mascalese from Etna.
